    How can I access syslog?

I need help locating Kubuntu's syslog. For the past several days, I've discovered my computer reboots whenever I'm away from it for an extended period of time, and I'm not sure if it's crashing or if the weather's to blame; my area has had a number of heavy thunderstorms lately. If somebody would, please instruct me on how I may consult the syslog.

    Thanks,
