Hey everyone,
I just finished installing Kubuntu, this is my first experience ever with linux and I know very very little about what I'm doing. I've been looking thru this forum to find help on installing emacs but I can't quite seem to do it. I type 'emacs' in the Konsole and this is what I get
The program 'emacs' can be found in the following packages:
* emacs21
* emacs-snapshot
* e3
* emacs-snapshot-nox
* emacs21-nox
* jove
* emacs-snapshot-gtk
Try: sudo apt-get install <selected package>
Make sure you have the 'universe' component enabled
bash: emacs: command not found
when I try "sudo apt-get install emacs21" I get this...
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Couldn't find package emacs21
can anyone tell me what it is that I'm doing wrong?
