OMG why, I was trying to fix that stuipd error that says

so I followed this guide http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...64.0;topicseen

and now i cant start kubuntu, it gives me some error and then goes to a black screen where i can only type , but nothing happens when i type in something, its just black.
plz help me, i just wanted to install the graphics driver for kubuntu so i can play my games faster in cedega

I did the easiest way, and now my monitor cannot display it, i used the intel video card, which is mine in the config ,but it still doesnt work >
what am i doing wrong

Did you restart ?
What errors/warnings do you have in the Xorg.0.log ?


When you repaired those X Error's
Did you use kate ? - text editor kate backups: xorg.conf -> xorg.conf~

Try to use backup, does it work ?

since my OS is not a pure Kubuntu, I use

restricted-manager

(gnome) to install drivers. It is really good.
If you can type in the "black" screen, can you run

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

What I'm lost, when I tried opening the xorg.conf file, it was empty, omg i dun want to reinstall my kubuntu, i installed wine and cedega on it and it was hard for me cuz i'm a noob at linux

Do you have:

/etc/X11/xorg.conf~
If yes - try:

:~$ sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf~ /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Restart.

If you don't have or it doesn't work
Try:

:~$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

Restart.
If this doesn't work try:

:~$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep "(EE)"

and

:~$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep "(WW)"

And tell us what it says.

Well the first two didn't work, the first one didn't even do anything, I dunno why, it didn't even say not found or anything like that.

Here is the error :

xf860 pen serial : cannot open device /dev/input/wacom

and here's the warning :
3D driver claims to not support visual and then 0x some random letters.

How and what did you install ?


You could try vesa driver.

VESA display driver
This driver for the X.Org X server (see xserver-xorg for a further description)
uses the standard VESA interface provided on all video cards, but runs
unaccelerated. This driver is not recommended for use unless you have a
problem with the normal driver for your card, because it will peform very
badly.

In xorg.conf:

Section "Device"

	Driver		"vesa"

Or

:~$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

and chose vesa when it asks driver. To other options use autodetect, simple and defaults.

Ok I used vesa as the video card, now what do i do, I want to play my games fast
I want to install intellinuxgraphics, please some one help me, I am so noobie
