Storing Samba Share Password

Hi, I have a second PC (actually an Xbox, but that doesn't matter here) which is sharing folders via Samba.

I have already found out that in the save file dialog box I can save to the samba share. But each time I do, I have to enter the samba password. Is it possible somehow to store this password so I do not have to enter it all the time?

If you are mounting the samba share using "fstab", you can store the password there, just like any other mount option.

You can also check smb4k. It's a samba utility that will let you browse the net and mount and umount shares.

You can tell it to mount the last used shares at bootup, and it will only ask for password once (usually after login). You could easily save to the mounted shares not only from kde apps, but also Gnome and desktop agnostic ones.

I remember that back in 1999 or 2000 I had to mount a Windows share on a Linux machine, but I wasn't well aware of how Samba worked, so I used a program called Gnomba. It was a matter of clicking, scanning the networks for shares, choose the mount point, enter some info (username, pass) and all was done.
You could look for a similar tool so you don't waste time and get the thing working quick.
