Just installed this, can I get my desktop res above 1024 x 768? That's what I was using on Windows, but everything seems a little big in Kubuntu. I've got a GeForce FX 5900 and updated the drivers, first manually, then with Kubuntu-Automatix just to make sure. Does Kubuntu support resolutions above this? Do I need to configure my monitor possibly?

Kubuntu does support higher resolution, I'm using 1600*1200, maybe try to :
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
Follow step, once it should ask you to chose a resolution.
