    Black screen when installing

    I was trying to install Kubuntu yesterday on my Athlon 1.4Ghz 512MB RAM, DVDROM, CDRW, 40GB HD computer.

    I would boot from the CD, then I would install. I would get a splash page, then it would go completely black. No response at all.

    Is there a reason as to why this is happening? I am attempting to install dual boot windows... thanks in advance.

    How to started the CLi and do like: sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
