Some newbie questions (dev tools, install applications)

    Hi,

    I've some questions about...

Developer Tools for Kubuntu. Where can I get an IDE for C and C++

And, how can I install applications from an CD (with Kubuntu 7.04). If i select an CD as media in adept, I get an error an I can't unmount the CD.

    Thanks for answers

Hi, I had a smimilar issue a nd it resolved itself by updating all software. Just search for sources.list in google and pick one. The link will describe how to add it. Then update all packages and then dept should work a bit better. With the basic installation it crashed al the time on me.

I've one problem. Some software has an update system. But on my first computer (with Kubuntu) I've no Internet. And on the second Computer, there's no Kubuntu but there is an ISDN-Internet (very slow and not cheap).

Where can I get updates manually And are updates for adept available (i don't find anything)?

And, do you know IDEs for C++ and C ??

          Hi,

          I've internet, it's very slow.

But maybe a friend with a better connection will download the updates. Or i download it, it will take some time and cost money, but thats not interresting. (I'm searching for Updates for Kubuntu and especially for adept).

But will do that if the PC with internet is not a linux-based system?

EDIT: And, If I change the themes (colour etc.), the names of harddisks and so on aren't showed anymore. Why?

(Re-) Boot the "Non-Linux" system by means of a Linux Live CD/DVD, and everything is going to be alright

I've tried it with an live CD but all things do not work.

Can you say me exactly which part from penguin.ch I have to do.

Or better say me here exactly what should i do (and on which computer).

On the PC to update is no internet access. And the other has DSL now.

EDIT: Yeah... I found a way !! From here you can download updated CDs... insert these and you can install the updates from adept... ! (The Download-Site is in German.)

No (read: zero direct) internet access, no party - at least none I know of.
