    Please help me with sound!!

    No sound on my computer (Toshiba Sattelite A100-220)(it worked on XP)....When I tried to run mplayer it said

    K->System Settings->Sound System

    Make a note of what your current settings are. And then try to mess with some stuff. I noticed mine needs to be set to "Open Sound System".

      not sure I understand what do you mean
      I found there (hardware select audio device:Autodetect
      Select midi device Midi Through Midi Through Port 0 - ALSA device

        From the "select the audio device" panel, click onto Autodetect and change it to Open Sound System, click apply and that should do it.
