hi, I have a drive with kubuntu installed in an external harddrive caddie, came from another computer which now has a larger harddrive I put into, my original idea was to see if I could make that drive live but on further reflection I imagine lot of spec problems so I will reinstall kubuntu afresh to it, but before I do that I would like to learn how to wipe and reformat a drive, also to know what format the kubuntu os requires, thanks

Re: how to wipe and reformat a drive
I would suggest you read this first:
http://www.howtoforge.com/partitioning_with_gparted
Then get it:
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/
there is also a lot of documentation on partitioning, formating, etc. to be read there.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
