I have a 6gb harddrive and not sure

Hi, I have taken out the harddrive that was on this laptop put in new harddrive and installed kubuntu to it, so the old harddrive of this computer has kubuntu installed, is there a way to make that instalation of kubuntu live too since I can see it when I add the harddrive as external harddrive, or must I reinstall the system to it again to make the harddrive live, which I am not sure how to do.

You should not have to. What you will want/need to do, is modify your /boot/grub/menu.lst to add an entry pointing to the installation on that (now) external HD. Review Qqmikes HOWTO on Grub. I'm sure that he has addressed this.
