Kubuntu is just fantastic to work, but it seems wine is getting better and better!

I used to subscribe to cedega, but i was disapointed how many games they actualy can handle and the fact they have to get paid for it!

So after seeing that one of my favourate games seems to be working with the latest wine, i tried it...

Setup went fine but when steam startsup I do not see anything.. but an empty window box...

    Do I need something?

I'm not sure that it answers your question... but have a look at "Steam, Half-Life, Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike 1.6 and Source with Wine" on http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/...=HOWTO%20Steam

This database shows if the program runs in wine, and how to do it

        Thanks guys,

Actuly , the first problem was fixed by just downloading a typical windows true type font (tahoma).

The other problem is although they (wineHQ and Franks corner) rate the game GOLD, the game itself look very very bad...

I gues we are not ready yet? or does somebody have a working game like HL2?
