If you have copied text output that contains formatting (colors, highlighting, etc.), please do not enclose it in QUOTE or CODE tags. Just right-click your mouse and choose "Paste Without Formatting" or similar (Paste as plain text).
Click on the Beryl Manager red icon in System and select the window manager (Kwin or Beryl).

Actually, if you right-click the red Beryl icon, then choose "Select Window Decorator", and click "Standard Beryl Decorator (Emerald)", and then choose "Reload Window Decorator", it should put the borders back on the windows, assuming both Beryl and Emerald are functioning correctly.
In the .kde folder in your /home/powerbits directory (which is a hidden file unless you tell your browser/file manager to show hidden files) there is an Autostart folder. Program icons that you stick in there will run upon booting up your system and logging in.
