Hi guys. After problems with Debian , i finally managed to run kubuntu again. But on kubuntu , i managed to fall in a dilemma. In Internet explorer on windows , i could have made shortcuts easily by dragging the icon on the url column to the desktop . I assume thats the same with firefox. I cant seem to do that with firefox on linux. When i drag it , and name it something , it comes to be a simply text document with the link of the url I am trying to get. How can i add shortcuts on kubuntu?

Re: url shortcuts
This technique can also be done with Konqueror.
Copy the URL in the location bar. Minimize or otherwise return to your desktop. Right-click and select Create New | Link to Location (URL)...
Your link to the web page is pasted to your desktop.
