Failed to install kubuntu 7.04 by CD.

I downloaded kubuntu-7.04-desktop-i386.iso and burned it. But when I try to install, I always get the message "broken image".

I caculated the md5 of the iso file :

    D:\Archive>md5 kubuntu-7.04-desktop-i386.iso
    9E36CE1851551601B14C61DA7D44E150 kubuntu-7.04-desktop-i386.iso

But the kubuntu web site said :

    5c19803a2a34996e68be96a279371b5d *kubuntu-7.04-alternate-i386.iso

I was confused about whether I downloaded a broken iso file or it's the problem of my CD burner.

the desktop and alternate are two different things.
    so, we still don't know...
here's the md5 checksums' file on the swiss mirror.
this is the checksum for the desktop cd:
    1ad3c003dbcbe27b3265da23b886d047 *kubuntu-7.04-desktop-i386.iso
it appears you actually have a broken image.
so, i'd suggest you download it again.
k3b (if you have kde running somewhere, that is) allows you to enter the given checksum for it to check.
if all is alright, you can then try and burn it again.

Please read both the Burning Iso Howto and the How To MD5SUM pages at the Ubuntu Community Help Wiki. All will be revealed, (well, almost).
