Silly question from a Kubuntu noobie

I can't get kubuntu to install to a GUI screen.
I tried to look at the log file.
I forget the name of it.

My question is how do you view a log file?

I used VMshare and Kubuntu installed fine.

I worked it out.
I found the problem.
It's the video driver.
I used the standard VGA driver and it worked.
Well, low-res and only a few colours.

Am working on installing a ATI Radeon X700 PCIe driver.

How u did it to have kde with "vga" driver?
I have the same problem with you but when i use the standard vga driver the kubuntu loads in command prompt only, no kde
I have also X700... What can i do to run the live cd?
Can i use another driver? "vesa" will run?
