"Can't find X include" while configuring a program

Hey all. I'm rather new to linux. I have had kubuntu up for about 4 days without a problem and have learned quite alot so far. While I was configuring KSmoothDock I get this error, "checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!" I have no idea what this means or how to resolve it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

libx11-dev
