Do your bios support booting with cdrom? If it do, the only thing you have to do is to set the CD-DRIVE to boot first in order in the BIOS-settings. Then burn the image you downloaded from Kubuntu to a CD-ROM and restart the computer with the CD-ROM in the CD-DRIVE.

Bios --> supports booting with cd rom, booting from CDrom

Still can't work, keep booting from XP

Did you burn the ISO as a disk image or as data?

You're supposed to burn the ISO as a disk image. Hopefully, one of these links can help you with that:

trial version of what? Magic ISO or Nero. If the first, try Nero, open in the real program, not express mode, and go to Recorder > Burn Image

Maybe its better for you to get some cd's from ubuntu site the ship it for you and you have it in a few weeks. there is a live cd in it to and then you can try if ubuntu linux is something for you.

if you like it you can use the install cd to install the real thing.

But ofcourse you use gnome then kubuntu doesn't ship atm but i read the will do it soon. Then you can order that 1 and use kde.

But you can also install kde with ubuntu cd. but i think its better to try out the live cd and look if you like linux our not.
