    Everything magnified

Well I am brand new to linux and I downloaded a game and when I ran it seemed to have put my resolution to 640x480. How can I change this back to 1024x768. Also when I go into system settings it will not let me go any higher than 640x480.

The easiest way is to start a Konsole (K>System>"Konsole--Terminal Program", and type the command: "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg" (without the quotation marks). Enter your password when requested. When the reconfiguration begins, just answer the questions as they come up. The defaults are usually sensible. It would help if you searach at the website of the manufacturer of your monitor for the range of Horizontal Sync Frequencies and Vertical Refresh Rates of your monitor. Then you can use the "Advanced" option, so you can enter those ranges and your preferred resolution.

Thanks for the quick reply. I just decided to reinstall because I hadn't really done anything yet plus I needed some time away from the comp to do my hw
