How do I get permission to copy files to the drivers directory?

I'm the only user, but there are directories it won't let me copy files to - what's it gonna take to satisfy it?

    Maybe this helps:

File Permissions / Editing Files that Belong to Root

    Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?

This may not be the most popular answer, however it is what I use. Open konsole and 'sudo cp filename new_directory'.

I don't know why that wouldn't be the most popular answer since it happens to be the right way to copy a file owned by root.
