This has GOT to be easy

I took a snap shot of a section of a pdf file and a window pops up telling me that my picture now resides on the clipboard. Before I fall off the wagon could someone please tell me how to access the clip board so I can retrieve my graphic?? I have found no clues jumping around Kubuntu for the last hour looking for it. Many thanks.

    hi gsmithp
You and open a file that you want the copied data into and press the Ctrl + V keys
It should paste the data into that file

The Clip board is down by the Clock
Click on it and it will show you what is in the Clip board
then select the one you need to copy into a file

    Good Luck and have fun

thanks, lyall, I remember a clipboard icon down there by the clock but haven't seen it there for some time. Don't know what happened to it. I tried using control+v in a file but nothing happened. Cap V and small v. Any chance I could get my clipboard icon back?

        Right click on the panel>>panel menu>>add applet>>klipper
        ~$sudo make me a sandwich

There's onr thing you ought to check. In konqueror, navigate to /home/gsmithp/.kde/share/config/.
Open the file:klipperrc. Make sure that it has the lines:
          Code:
          [General]
          AutoStart=true
The only other thing in my klipperrrc file is some version info which seems to imply that Klipper has been around for a while. I guess it's a case of "Don't mess with things that work."

Thanks for your help folks but I think this whole thing is still a bit over my head. I did get the icon back but have no idea what to do to see the contents. I just want to see whats on there but clicks and double clicks offer only 'actions' and ways to change the code instead. Good thing I kept Windows on my other partition so I can get some work done during this steep learning curve. This is starting to get a little frustrating. I'm spending way too much time trying to translate 'Kubuntu speak' into a workable and understandable language and I'm beginning to think my lay expertise level isn't sufficient to make this os change practical but I'll keep at it for a while. Lot's of schools in the area...maybe I can find a class. Thanks again..time to reboot to the dreaded Windows 'dark side'.

Re: This has GOT to be easy

Here's what klipper looks like when empty

After couple of copy actions (in this case a bit of text and an image file) it should look similar to this:

              [img width=400 height=152]http://www.claydoh.com/uploads/photos/24.png[/img]

You can then select which item to paste, the default being the last copied item.
A neat thing about linux copy and paste is that for the most part, simply highlighting a bit of text automatically copies it, and a middle-mouse-click pastes it. I find that very handy and miss it every to me I am at work using the Windows box.
