I installed Ubuntu on my PC a few months ago, but never had time to do much with it. I've recently started using it some more and decided to switch over to Kubuntu. I downloaded and installed the files using Synaptic last night, and then had to get off the computer. When I got back on today and booted up Kubuntu, the load screen and the login screen were the only things Kubuntu. After I logged in, it loaded up Ubuntu. It seems that all the Kubuntu applications are there, but so are the Ubuntu ones, and the GUI is still Ubuntu. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: installing kubuntu over ubuntu
On the screen where you log in - where you input your password - the "icon" on the left which looks like the page from a book will let you choose what kind of session you want. Choose KDE instead of Gnome."A problem well stated is a problem half solved." --Charles F. Kettering
