Installing Kibuntu with Ubuntu already installed.

    Hello,

I Have never used Linux before. I do know my way around computers. A couple of days ago I installled Ubuntu and later I found out that Kibuntu would be better for me.

Can I install Kibuntu on the same computer? I already installed Ubuntu.

    Regards,

    Yes.

    Kubuntu ~ KDE desktop
    Ubuntu ~ Gnome desktop

    From FAQ
    http://www.kubuntu.org/faq.php

I already have Ubuntu installed, how can I get Kubuntu?

    1. Install kubuntu-desktop either with Synaptic or the command line apt-get install.

See InstallingKDE for a full explanation.

If you are connected to the Internet and have a reasonably quick download speed you should open a terminal and input:
      sudo apt-get install kubuntu desktop
When you next reboot and go to the screen where you sign on you will have the ability to choose the type of session you want - choose KDE instead of Gnome.

If you are not on the Internet you can install Kubuntu from a disk. It will take the place of Ubuntu.
