3 questions

(1) how do I change the TCP/IP proxy so I can connect to the Internet.

(2) how to rip tracks from CD to AAC or MP3 or whichever format I need to use

(3)How do I get the computer to recognize all of my hardware particularly SD and MMC card readers, USB devices, etc.

Any help wold be greatly appreciated and if I can reciprocate in any way I will not hesitate

(1) K>"System Settings">"Network Settings">Proxy ... Fill out form for your system.

(2) Personally I rip to ogg (it's a free format and gives slightly better sound quality for slightly smaller files than mp3. Put audio CD in drive > Click "open in new window". > Click on Ogg or MP3 folder. Copy song to /home/<yourUsername>/Music/New (or wherever else, you might desire)

(3) Learn about writing Udev rules, especially the section about card readers.
