I'm buying a new PC next week and would like to clone (Backup) my system I'm using a program called Keep. Do I have to backup just my home directory or the entire /. directory. I want the option when I install Kubuntu on my new machine I just want to hit restore backup in the Keep app and reboot and have my system the same as it was on my old PC.Make sense? Thanks for any help.

Personally I would start fresh and only back up personal files. By restoring you will probably create more problems. All of the config files will be different with the new hardware creating conflicts and errors. Besides fresh starts are always a good thing.

Never thought of it that way. all my personal files in on a seperate HD .so I will just start fresh.Thanks for the help.Comment
