    Screen Size

On my Kubuntu desktop, there is about a centimeter of space on the left side of the screen. Because of this, the screen blocks off half of the trash can. What can I do to move the image so I can see the entire picture?

I believe that that is a monitor problem. Does the same thing happen in windoze? If not, you may have a problem in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.

No, In Windows, there is no problem. Only in Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and Edbuntu.

Hmm - maybe xvidtune helps ?

        man xvidtune:
xvidtune - video mode tuner for Xorg

        The available buttons are:

        Left
        Right
        Up
        Down
Adjust the video mode so that the display will be moved in
        the appropriate direction.

        Wider
        Narrower
        Shorter
        Taller
Adjust the video mode so that the display size is altered
        appropriately.
        Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?

I strongly suggest (i.e. you'll be sorry if you don't) that you look at the xvidtune manpage before you begin fooling around. You can do that in konqueror by typing "man:/xvidtune" in the konq location bar.
