How do I properly install mplayer?
I installed it using adept but there is serious playback issues when i try to play DVDs.
The first issue is that I receive a font error when starting up Mplayer.
The next error is the load time for the DVD, it takes a few minutes to load the DVD and the DVD drive sounds like a Jet engine when loading and playing the DVD.
The final issue is the video stutter and quality, which makes me wonder if the proper DVD codecs and software were installed when i installed mplayer through adept.
Another possibility that I considered was that their might be an option to configure the DVD drive a certain way so I won't get these issues.
Mplayer worked fine when I installed it via Smart on Suse 10.0.
