    ARG! "Could not find mime type application/octet-stream" error is EVERYWHERE!

    Hello.

    I have an ENORMOUS problem... Whenever I open up X, it comes up with about 5 of these error windows. And then if I open practically ANY application, it does the same thing! I had this problem the last time I installed Kubuntu...

    HELP... PLEASE.

    Fixed! (I think)

    I looked at the octet-stream.desktop file and saw that it was just some type of definition file for a filetype, and that the application I entered to open it didn't exist! So, it seems like I've fixed it now...

      Okay, so it wasn't fixed... But it is now!

      *sigh*

      I finally had to edit the octet-stream.desktop file myself because when I edited the using the filetype editor the error window would come up and my changes would be canceled. YAY.
