    Fast Keys

    Hi,

I have a great keyboard from Cherry , great stuff!
It has the usual multimedia keys on it (webbrowser, email, sleep, calculator, volume control)

How can I program my linux kubuntu to get the keys to work.

For instance when i press the webbrowser key, I want Firefox to run..

    Many thanks

    Frank

K > "System Settings" > "Keyboard & Mouse" > "Command Shortcuts". The only thing you have to do is to figure out what keycodes are transmitted by the multimedia keys. You may be able to find out by simply starting a Konsole and pressing the multimedia keys. If not, start a konsole and enter the command "cat /dev/stdin/". The output will require some translation, though. Even better would be some information from the manufacturer on the keycodes generated by the multimedia keys.
