Bigpond Wireless Blue modem

I have a Bigpond wireless Blue modem which I am yet to find a way to install it on Kubuntu. As a work around, I have Win XP on another pc on which the modem is installed and I have networked my Lappy with Kubuntu on it to the PC and connect to internet through this network. All a bit messy.
What I'm looking for is a way to either :
a) install this modem on Kubuntu, or,
b) install Kubuntu on seperate partition on the PC, start up in Win XP to connect to Internet through the modem, and somehow move to the Kubuntu partition while remaining connected to internet.
Does this make sense? Can anyone help?
