Gmail won't open from applications

When I open Gmail from an application, such as Akregator, it stops loading the page and freezes when the red loading box appears in the top right corner.

If I open Gmail from Konqueror itself it loads up fine, albeit the usual Gmail coding muckups.

I'm not sure what's causing your problem but I have set up kontact/kmail to send and retrieve email from google. It avoids the coding problems all together.
