    Installing Software

I'm sorry guys but I cannot even find out how to install some programmes. I am trying to install the Deb. file version of F-Prot (virus scanner). It's downloaded and sitting on my desktop - how do I install it?

Yes I have looked in various FAQ's but the (bleeding) obvious does not seem to be there and my pocket O'Reilly is very interesting but I seem to be missing a brain cell cos I canna find what I want.

Help please with this so simple matter (well simple when you know of course).

    Paul.

For a .deb you should simply be able to right-click on it and choose install.

Sheeting is correct. To take it to the next level of detail, right click the .deb file on your Kubuntu desktop, and choose "Kubuntu Package Menu" > "Install Package".
