I don't think ndiswrapper works with a graphical interface on my Kubuntu (it did on my Xubuntu, though). Anyhow, I'm not sure as I'm at work now, working on a Windoze system, so I can't check.

When ndiswrapper installed, I just opened console and typed "ndiswrapper -i RT73.inf" (as the RT73 was the chip I needed to install). To make sure, I copied the .inf file to my desktop. Could be that you have to type the folder of the .inf-file as well, not sure.

@Vergouby: Think it's a lot easier when you try to get on the net (wired) somewhere (Kubuntu has no problems recognising wired). Then you can add the multiverse repositories, and I think you should find ndiswrapper in Adept then.

Obviously, this is a lot easier with wired access to the internet.

So I got ndiswrapper installed. I don't get any GUI working, so I am going with the command line:

> ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5.inf
forcing parameter IBSSGMode from 0 to 2
forcing parameter IBSSGMode from 0 to 2

Not sure what it means...

In Network Settings, my eth1 (wireless) still get stuck in Disabled state...

Did you follow the rest of the instructions? Did you et any errors? What you showed is not an error. Some of my cards do the same.

Well, I am not sure what are the rest of the instructions, but basically I've tried everything I could.

right now :
> iwconfig

looking at the bugs already reported, it might come from a gnome configuration that is not available within kde

Look like I should install a network-admin package to configure network cards, but I don't find it anywhere...

Don't know what to do from here...
