Installing software

Hi, I just got Kubuntu and I am new to linux. I don't kn ow hoe the system works and I want to install real player since I cannot play movies in kaffeine. But the file of real player gets saved in a folder and i can't install it/make it work. I am very new to this and not a computer expert of any kind. PLEASE HELP ME and explain as simply as u can.

go into the directory (folder). if the extension on the file is .bin, follow these directions.
right click. click actions, open terminal here. type "sudo chmod +x RealPlayer10GOLD.bin" without the quotes. type your password. then type "./RealPlayer10GOLD.bin" without the quotes. And search is your friend, I found that in a couple seconds by searching for realplayer.
