When I installed the ubuntu-desktop package I noticed that when I clicked Log Out from the K menu I only saw the Log out button and no other buttons appeared. Can anyone help me? I am using 7.04 on a iBook G4 from mid-2004.

If you use Gnome, and your display manager is kdm you only get the logout button. If you have gdm as your display manager and you use KDE you only get the logout button. If you use gdm and Gnome together or kdm and KDE together you get all of the options. This seems to be the default setup. It is possible to to have all of the options from either kdm or gdm from either desktop but I can't tell you how it's done
