    How to access networked sound?

I have a mythbackend/fileserver in my basement. The myth tuner card has an fm radio receiver in it (hauppauge pvr-500). I was thinking I could install kradio in it and run it remotely from my frontend. I was wondering though how I can access the sound system on the backend from my frontend. I checked off "networked sound" on my backend settings, but I need to run <something> on my frontend to connect up and access the sound (I assume). Can anyone suggest what that something might be?

Or, is there a way to run kradio on my frontend and remotely access /dev/radio on the backend?

Or, does anyone have any other suggestions?

Now that I think about it, it would be better if I could somehow run kradio on my frontend and access /dev/radio from my backend. That way I could implement lirc easier. I suppose I could network my lirc so I could run kradio on the backend, but that seems overly complicated.
