Kubuntu Desktop not starting on startup

Ok, so here's the scoop. I'm fairly familiar with Ubuntu, but the other day I installed Kubuntu on my girlfriend's old dog of a PC. Amarok kept freezing for her so she apparently tried to kill the process and made a mistake somewhere. Now, when she boots up, all she has is her blue background on the desktop and two process managers open. No right click, no menus, no nothing.

I'm not sure what she killed, or if there is a way to put the default desktop environment back into startup on boot, but any help would be much appreciated ASAP!

She's on Feisty Fawn and she upgraded last night and it worked fine earlier all today...

If there is no desktop (no icons, wallpaper) you have killed
    Code:
     kdesktop
if there is no taskbar (clock, kmenu) you have killed
    Code:
     kicker
if you only see the console, you have killed the X server. (startx)

if you can somehow run konsole, try running the programs I listed.

    cheers!
