Kubuntu DVD

I downloaded/burned the kubuntu DVD which has all the 4000+ packages.

After I installed it it shows the exact same installed packages as the CD version. How can I install the packages from the DVD?

when you selcet new packages from Adept it will install from the DVD rather than from the internet. You can also turn on the universe repositories and you will have 17000 packages to select from.
