    harddrive from another computer

Ok, since the CDrom drive on this old laptop is weak, I could not directly install kubuntu 6.06 to the harddrive inside so I took out the harddrive and installed it with kubuntu in another laptop, replaced it in its original laptop and booted up and it works as long as I have the kubuntu CD in the drive on booting, now that everything is working how do keep the system going, even if I don't have the CD in the weak drive seeing that the problem is that the drive will only get weaker. I believe it is only a problem of storing the drivers that are on the CD of installation on a file in the computer.

(anyway, I am just chuffed that kubuntu can do this)

thanks, I left it at work so I will be back with more details, I think(guessing) that the drivers are not the right ones so that it looks for the right drivers from the CD then it works as it should, the problem then is that I must keep the kubuntu CD in the drive on startup, what I would like is for the drivers to be fixed before the CDrom becomes too weak, it is getting to the stage where even the icon of the CD on the desktop is not showing.
