I need help with Kubuntu - Creating new internet connection

I installed Kubuntu on my computer, i liked it but I didn't find way to create new internet connection...

Could someone tell me where I can find right tool to create new internet connection or Terminal commands for it?

Ps. I'm totally beginner with Linux

There is no way. There is no concept of "new internet connection" on Linux.

How do you want to connect to the net?

I mean, router, modem (usb or serial), wireless...

Any extra info could be helpful.

I have ethernet 10/100 pci card and cable modem...
I wonder how i'm able to connect internet because i have account and password for fast internet connection

I don't know nothing about cable-modems, specially Ethernet attached ones (shouldn't they work as routers?). But for the old, glorious modems I used a program called Kppp. It's on the Internet menu, maybe it will help.

Or you can just wait to someone who really knows about cable-modems.

Try run pppoeconf from command line.

Therefore you will probably need to:
sudo pppoeconf

That will setup your ADSL or broadband connection over ethernet.

Ethernet connections are managed by Knetworkmanager. I assume when you start you broadband modem it will connect automatically, Open Knetworkmanager and open static connection. If on auto, it should detect your Ip address, mask and gateway automatically. Check your browser if you have a connection!
