lost in drivers...

hello everybody and thanks for reading. kubuntu 6.06 (k2.6.15-26-386) on a benq joybook 7000 laptop installs the following audio card config: Intel 82801DB-ICH4. as a result i just get sound out of the headphone jack and not from speakers... i've been testing out a few alternatives from the KMix in/out/switch panel, but with no result.

a previous install from mandriva 2007.0 (k2.6.17 ?) reporting :

I really don't think you should switch module. You probably need to correctly configure kmix.
You could also try alsaconf from konsole.
Could You supply screenshots of both Kmix and console with alsaconf?
