Yes, running edgy, sometimes I just with to multitask meaning mailing on desktop 1, music of desktop 2, etc., but there are times when I am doing something I feel that belongs on another desktop, is there a dragdrop to taskbar icon way or is it a keyboard shortcut for this?

Re: easy question: how do I transfer an open window in one desktop to another
Very simple to do. Right-click and drag the application from the Desktop window it is in to the Desktop window you want it in.Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

CPrompt's approach makes more sense, especially if you have several running apps in your window(s).
Thanks CPrompt.Windows no longer obstructs my view.

Re: easy question: how do I transfer an open window in one desktop to another
There are 2 additional ways:
1. Use the Desktop Preview and Pager which is on the panel by default. If you removed it, right-click on the panel, select Add Applet to Panel and add it. Once it's there, you can just select a window in the pager and drag that to another desktop of your choice. Remember, select the window in the pager, not the real window on the desktop.
2. Active Desktop borders: this will allow you to drag your windows to the borders of the desktop and it will switch the window to the adjacent desktop. Go to System Settings -> Desktop -> Window Behavior -> Advanced Tab. In the Active Desktop Borders section, choose "Only when moving windows". Try to play around with the settings.
Hope that helps, too.

Here's a few more tips:
1. In Systemsettings>WindowBehavior>TitlebarActions>Titl ebarWheelEvent You can set the mouse wheel to switch window to a different desktop (when the mouse is over the window titlebar)
2. In Systemsettings>Keyboard&Mouse>KeyboardShortcuts you can set keyboard shortcuts for moving windows to next/previous or specified desktop
