easy question: screen clock and taskbar clock out of sync

OK, edgy elf, I am on Zurich time, my screen saver is always two hours behind my taskbar, how do I get them sync'ed, thanks,

Oh, and apart from the above one minor problem my system is a joy to use, everything just perfect.

Re: easy question: screen clock and taskbar clock out of sync

Speaking of the taskbar clock, I remember in Dapper or Edgy it actually showed hh:mm:ss, as the default display. Since I migrated to Feisty, I've never been able to get the seconds to display -- the formatting utility seems to ignore them. Anyone have a theory of whether this is a "bug" or a new "feature"?

It's an intelligence test: you have to "apply" for the (re-)configuration several times to get it approved

uh -- huh .... I'm failing the test here (again ...)

I guess we solved the mystery regarding my intelligence.

Geez, you can change it to "Hebrew" and it STILL doesn't affect the taskbar display -- I think that "Time and Date Format" utility is only to give an impression of a future capability ...... :P

You need to use the tzconfig command to set the time zone in /etc/timezone. Now date, Kontact and KDE all show the correct time.
well that is clear enough, um what exactly do I do before I am back saying that I got it wrong,

OK, since you didn't reply in five minutes, I figured it out by

                - click: k menu
                - click: teminal
                - click: shell
                - write: sudo su
                - write: password
                - write tzconfig
                - press key button: Y
                - and then choose area by the number given,
                - press enter
                - spell the name of the nearest city: zurich

done, and the computer lived happily ever...
