I just started using kubuntu a few weeks ago which is my first view into linux. I'm comfortable enough moving around but the problem is I'm not really sure how to set up my scanner, as well as a printer that's connected to another computer on the LAN. The scanner is connected to my own computer.
When running lsusb:
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 008: ID 1267:0210 Logic3 / SpectraVideo plc
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0461:0347 Primax Electronics, Ltd Primascan Colorado 2600u/Visioneer 4400 Scanner
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
the primax is what It recognizes as a scanner, but the only identifying marks are mine are Memorex 6142u scanner. Maybe I'm just being stupid and their the same thing, but it still isn't recognized by Kooka or Xsane
the printer I suppose I really don't know anything about except it's model. It's connected to my father's computer which he set up for me to use with windows but doesn't know anything about kubuntu/linux.
