    Question: Is this possible?

    Well the question is... would i be able (taking into account im a newbie) attempt the following;

    Build a Kubuntu based Server which is a domain controller, providing user accounts, file sharing etc. Aswell provides Intranet (internal only) email capabailities to its users.

    Also... (remeber im a newbie) but what is the main difference between the Kubuntu server and workstation installation. Currently i have only dabbled with with Kubuntu 6.06

    p.s. i have posted other emails relating to this but i dont think ive explained myself very well.

    I don't know about the first part, but the main difference between Server and Desktop (I don't know what the "workstation" installation is) is lack of GUI versus GUI. The Server is a command-line only installation with applications suitable for maintaing a server. The Desktop is a point-and-click interface with applications suitable for home users.
    Linux is ready for the desktop--but whose desktop?<br />How to install software in Kubuntu

      I think the Kubuntu Server CD installer also installs LAMP by default. If you install using any other type of installer (Desktop CD, Alternate Install CD), you will have to manually install these.
