    Beryl Bugs

Since I can't seem to get registered on the Beryl formus, I'll have to post here and hope to get some help.

This command takes away my windows top border and makes it impossible to move or close them. And takes away my cursor in the Konsole so I can't execute any more commands without restarting.

Lots of failures, huh? Sounds pretty scary, but it sometimes works with no problems. Sometimes it crashes the task bar. But sometimes returns the windows top border and allows me to move them.

My computer is Vista Capapble, and I got a decent graphics card. Once I get it to load Beryl it runs just fine.

    Re: Beryl Bugs

I think maybe you're having "Window Decorators" problems. A search on either Beryl forum or this forum or Ubuntu forum will turn up lots on that. I would also be suspicious of your graphics card driver being installed correctly -- can you open the GLX option and check it?

I recently went through a little Beryl problem after I installed Feisty, and I posted my new "secret recipe" on this thread -- see the 5th post down:

How do I open the GLX option to check it. Anything else?

        Re: Beryl Bugs

The proprietary Nvidia driver (-9746 and -9755, at least that I know of) include a utility which is installed in your Kmenu>System folder. Open that utility and observe the menu. At the top are Xserver settings menus (including monitor control), in the middle are Open GL and GLX settings, and at the bottom are thermal and frequency (overclocking) settings. I once THOUGHT I had my proprietary Nvidia driver installed correctly, but when I checked the GLX settings, it would crash the utility -- that was my clue that it wasn't done correctly. When it is correct, you can open these settings and see all the supported GLX modes and commands.

Try running beryl-manager and make sure you read this:
