is there anywhere I can see the games before I think of downloading them, the explanation given with adupt is not very clear

I don't play games on Linux often. No, it's not than I'm not a gamer, I own a PS2 and a WII.
Anyway, I enjoyed "Battle for Wesnorth". It's a kind of "Heroes of Might and Magic" but best.
If you like turn-based strategic games it's a good one. BTW it has that old and lovely hot-seat multiplayer mode.
