    multi user stand alone

hi i want to configure kubuntu as 'root' and lock out 'guests' from changing settings
i want guests to be able to access the internet but that's about all i want them to be able to do
i want a screen saver slide show that doesn't revert to black at some time and requires a password to activate the desktop
    any ideas?

    Hi,

For this, I guess you should check in /etc/sudoers to remove the right to all users, but don't forget to keep one user to be able to sudo or set a root password (what I don't really like).
Then you can set the machine, to never switch off and all this you need...

Can you explain, what you don't know how to do ?

    Cheers

I think that what you're looking for is a package called "kiosktool". Please read the wiki page at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KubuntuKioskProfiles Then you can install kiosktool with your favorite package installer. Unfortunately, as far as I know, the desired User Profiles have not been created yet. so you'll have to do that on your own.
