Video problems

Greetings,

Ok I have just reinstalled Kubuntu. And the time before the reinstall the video was acting up. It would only play in have of the window. The other half was just black. It looked like the was squished together.

I thought that after the reinstall it would be fixed. I have installed the codecs and players that I could find. and still it only play in half of the window. It does not cut off the other half, it just play it in only half of the screen so you can see everything that is being rendered it is just skewed to one side (left).

I have posted this question before, but I did not get any help with fixing the problem. Please if you have any Ideas let me know.

Lets start with the easiest first.....Did you try expanding with the monitor controls?

If that does not work then you need to know your monitors vertical and horizontal rates are.
And copy and paste:

cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf
