Can not login

Greetings,

I get to the login screen and then type the password the screen go blank and then back to the login screen.

It will let me into the console veiw, which works great; however, when I restart it does the same thing.

Is there anyway I can run a check system to see if there are any errors.

Things that I did before I restarted and got to the point where I am now.
Ran Update and it gave me a database locked error
Then I went it to the console and type #apt-get --configure --pending
Then I ran Add/Removed again and it worked
Got half way through the download and then stoped it.
Restarted and now I am here.

Any help would be great.

Hi,

Can you tell us what version of kde you're using ?
Maybe it's because you have a filesystem full or an error in the .kderc (or .kde/) files...
Can you try to start kde from the console ? Just login and type startkde

My drive was full. And so I reinstalled Kubuntu and it all started working again.

In the future what should I do?

Hi,

Next time, when you're logged in console mode, type df -h and if you see that the /home or / is full then make some cleaning...
