dibl: uname -r prints the kernel version, right? Comes in handy, though. Thank you.
Yep. That will print out the current kernel you are using. Nothing to do with the Kubuntu version, except giving you a clue.
Just curious:
How do you find these commands?
Can I find which version of Kubuntu I am running by using the graphical interface?

1. From experience, from other people, from reading, for searching. Take your pick.
2. K Menu -> Help -> Kubuntu Documentation. Release Notes or About Kubuntu.

Before you go out to buy a book, please browse over the Kubuntu Desktop Guide that's installed on the system. Who knows, you might not need a book in the end.
It's a zip file which you can extract with Ark. The book is a .chm file which means you need to install a program called Kchmviewer, through Adept, which installs in the utilities menu. It's worth it imho it's a very good book.
Hope this helps.
